Doug's aunt & uncle will be married 40 years this weekend!

WOW that is a long time ago!

when they got married their bridesmaids wore purple velvet

so I knew I wanted to incorporate some purple

one of the reasons love crafting is for the reflection

the "me time" that I can just think bout nothin

& everything all at once

no pressure

just crafting

I tend to think bout those I am crafting for

about what they mean to me

as I was makin this card I got to thinkin bout Auntie Joan

how she is a beautiful soul :)

always accepting

lovin my boys

that big smile

with the funnest giggle

the most awesomest socks

& the coolest purplish hair

she always sees the positive in every situation

everyone jokes she wears rose colored glasses

& although my opinion doesn't matter (I am just married in)

I think she is just a very special lady :)

she warms my heart

they say happy is contagious

I love to catch her happy :)

I could not get a good picture so you can not really tell

but the girl "joan" is actually raised & looks as if she is steppin outta the card

into her next 40 years :)

finally my tip for tip top tuesday :)
after I color my hair with copics
I always add glossy accents over it
in the same direction as the hair growth.
When it's drying I "comb" it with a needle
so when it is dry the dimension & the shine makes your girl
look as "real" as possible :)

the boys & I had almost the entire day free yesterday

so right after early morning hockey practice

we headed over to Michaels

the boys said they wanted modeling clay

they were on an Angry Birds mission!!!

So they spent the day angrily makin birds :)

while I made another 150 card caddy order

for one of the wards at work.

It was an awesome day of craftin with my boys :)

but it turned out to be more of a

gardenish/jewelry/nicknicky

all around coolish type store

when I met the owner

of Savior Faire

she was very sweet

& we got to talkin

perfect for a vday card for my hubby

which goes along with a funny story...well not so funny

just before Doug & I were gonna get married

my bridesmaids took me to a psychic card reader

she did all their cards & I was last.

she announced to everyone

"that I was so lucky

I was soon to meet my night in shining armor

that he was the prince I had always hoped for..."

I quickly said "I met him 10 years ago

& I am getting married on Saturday"

she laughed and said " are you sure?"

no one said a word...

that was 15 years ago

I am 100% sure she was wrong :)

crazy but true

today I turn the big 4 0

I never, EVER thought I'd be this old

have this much

or be happy in any way

As a teen I had so much angst

pain

anger

I have regrets

& I do question why things happen sometimes

as everyone does I guess

but with some personal reflection

I believe I am as happy as I allow myself to be

as happy as I think I deserve

I have never been one to say I will be happy when...

or I can't wait for...

I guess I never believed good things happen for me

although

I know I am lucky in love

I love my family

my mom

my boys

my life is so full I can barely believe it

it scares me sometimes

looking back I am certainly satisfied with how my last 40 went

& I am looking forward to my next 40

I deserve to be happy

I believe

I am happy :)

This week at SPS we are concentrating our makes on the Fall!!!

We here in Winnipeg Canada had THE most awesome summer

it was hot, barely rained at all & was just gorgeous!!!

The weather sure did change however,

it seemed like overnite

we fell into fall!!!

I am not complaining mind you

I love the crisp mornings

the sunny afternoons

and the golden hues :)

There is a fellow blogger that I started reading back over a year ago who always posts her feelings so elegantly...whether they are elegant feelings or not :) Steph always reminds me of the joy of parenthood...real parenthood! She also eloquently talks about marriage & being a mother :) she is somethin special and so often makes me smile or laugh right out loud & I do not even "know" her. I do believe her to be a stellar individual however & since she challenged her readers to BLOG YOUR HEART I decided to play along

This is super long & I do not think too many will care or get to #22 but here it goes:

1. I am happy.

I have an awesome life.

Hubby that makes me smile & answers "do I look fat?" with the right answer every time

Two kids that I adore & are everything I always wanted!!!

2. I have a job I love

one I feel good at

smart at

it is super hard & rewarding

and for the most part I feel valued there

3. I hate that I am so fat for me

I have hit the change of life

and with that I am unable to loose weight

sadly I am just finding it :(

that makes me feel ugly

and sadly perpetuates my self hate

4. As I get older I find myself thinking about things I can not change

thinking about worldly things I can not change...but want to

5. I never, EVER watch the news

it is depressing

it is always the same

horrific

6. We, Doug & I over the past year made some great friends

who are actually good to us

I do miss some friends we haven't spoke to in a while

and do hope they see this & know they are thought of often!!!!!!!

I loved watching my nephew playing football the other day,

together as a family, we are quite a force to be reckoned with!

10. I love to play games & sports

I feel like an adult

but play like a kid

Doug hates all cards & board games

13. a lot of uncanny things happen around me & to me

it makes me feel super weird!

14. People always tell me how confident I am

"what a strong woman"

I laugh right out loud at that!!!

anyone who really knows me laughs too

I feel spoiled in it everyday

but I am very self punitive

nothing is ever perfect

it helps to make things with someone I care about in mind

to me it always makes the thing I am making better

and regret it so much after

20. our basement is where we spend almost all of our time

she is all the good that I remember about my childhood & adolescence

Firsts...so ambivalent

filled with excitement

inlaid with some fear

always leave me feeling a little queezy

I can not believe how time has just flown by!

It was a VERY LONG drive

torturous actually!!!

on the way there I believe I asked the boys to get along close to a billion times :(

then I screamed at the top of my lungs to be nice to eachother

and we laughed hysterically :)

hysterical is the key word :)

but when we got there and saw this...wow!!!

fossil awesomeness

then we went to the largest canadian reptile museum

we saw some crocs & alis & a bunch of poisonous & killer reptiles

oh and we held a few :)

it was an awesome trip fer sure :)))

TCPF anything but a card

so I used a recycled object

at work we got some Ferrero Rocher chocolates

and I saved the plastic boxes

I decided I needed to make a hair bits & bobble case

and so I created this & mod podged it so it could be cleaned with water

then a friend & her daughter came by

and little K fell in love with it :)

which sure made me & her smile

today it is holding her barrettes

and I love that!

I thought about water and the beauty of reflection.

I wish it were easy to believe in my own beauty!

Perhaps this card is a bit of need of personal reflection on my part.

I never think of myself as pretty, worthy let alone beautiful.

Someone commented the other day

how awesome it must be to be me.

I laughed it off and they replied

"no really you are some kinda special"

I went totally red in the face & thanked her

I know I should believe

it is just so difficult for me.

Hey all...not feelin great

I am suppose to be at the lake for the next 3 weeks

we are doing a lot of renos

lifting the cottage, redoing a septic & water system...etc

and well I am at home!!!

waiting for a broncoscopy tomorrow

I need them to fish out the darn broccoli I inhaled yesterday!!!

I was eating some veggies & dip at lunch time

and I have had a cough/cold for a week

while I was just finishing chewing some broccoli

I began coughing

took a huge breath in during my coughing spell

a huge breath of broccoli into my lungs :(

then I proceeded to really cough/choke

all nite long!

I have coughed so hard in the last 24 hrs

my word!!!

Of course they had no room in the OR to do my scope today

so I chose to cough at home tonite instead of at the hospital

and they will try to suck out that veggie tomorrow

I now hate healthy eating even more :)

Damn diets :)

I surely have never choked on chips :)))

Anyways I will update you tomorrow

so sorry I haven't visited your blogs
